Tears of Joy for Tiny

Generation Wags first learned of Lab Rescue of the LRCP‘s fabulous foster dog Tiny a few years ago.  As luck had it (not), the system our site was on was changed and with it went our original story!  However, we want to recap Tiny’s tale as it has a VERY happy ending.

Like so many rescues, Tiny’s family was in the unfortunate situation where they could no longer care for him.

Also, like so many rescues run on volunteer “power” Tiny was cared and nurtured in a few homes while in search of his forever home.

Enter Steve and Maryann, Tiny’s third foster, but Steve and Maryann’s FIRST!     While in their care, and through the generosity of the rescue’s supporters, they were able to raise the funds needed to provide Tiny with a VERY expensive eye surgery!

Fast forward to the recuperation stage for Tiny!

Imagine Tiny’s first time going out to catch a ball with foster Steve!

Three years later Tiny’s trek to health and rehoming is complete.

His happy ever after places him a loving home.  So many people who will meet Tiny may never know the number of volunteers, funds, and efforts it took for him to be a beloved pet.  These efforts occur everyday, in every town.  So thank a shelter or rescue volunteer you know!  Donate and support them.  Do all you can to keep your OWN pet safe, happy, and healthy.

In addition, when you see an adoption fee of several hundred dollars for a rescue pet, realize that on average this is likely just a fraction of the dollars spent by volunteers to get the pet ready for adoption!

The challenges of rescue are great, but so too are the opPETunities and rewards such as the happy ever ending tale for Tiny!

Consider making a donation to help offset these costs and provide for the next dog in need!

TINY TODAY!

adoptedtinyTiny’s adopter shares this update!

“Tiny” now Bode is doing great! I’ve had him for two years and he is my best buddy! His eyesight was restored of course and he LOVES looking out the windows during car rides and is always watching everything. His sight is so good in fact that he can see through the blinds on the other side of the room at people walking by on the path by the house. He jumps up and runs to the sliding door to show that he’s here and ready to protect! He is a love bug and is the sweetest dog.

He has two “girl friends” in the family who we also adopted, Pennie and Finley. He loves them like crazy… Almost too much sometimes! He also hangs around with his cat buddy Jojo. Bode has been a great addition to my family and we are so happy to have found him.
